Messina lies alongside the sea wich separates Sicily from Italy. The strait of Messina, «where Ulysses underwent the most astonishing hardship of his twenty year cruise», was (in 1908) the epicenter of the deadliest quake in known european history. Messina is a city that doesn’t keep nearly any visible trace of its past history. There I was born (in 1980) and grew up, shaped by the desire of getting close to its secret soul.
